Christmas Report

Whew! I'm wiped out! We enjoyed a wonderful couple of days celebrating Christmas with our family, but in the midst of excitement and joy, our family of three was battling some yucky sick bugs. Wednesday before Christmas we made a trip to the doctor's office with one very sick, lethargic Avery. Poor baby had pneumonia! Coughing, runny nose, and a fever of 103 bought her antibiotics, a cough suppressant and around the clock dosings of Tylenol and Ibuprofen to get our spunky little 2 year old feeling better by Friday.

Christmas Eve we enjoyed spending the day with Braxton's side of the family. Avery loved opening presents this year and was not in short supply of pretty packages to tear in to. She loved it!

Friday evening, we enjoyed a beautiful Christmas Eve service at our church. Then it was home and to bed for our still recovering little one and exhausted mommy & daddy.

Christmas morning we enjoyed opening gifts at home, just the three of us. It was so nice to have some quiet time together just our little family

Mid morning we loaded up the car and headed over to my parent's house for Christmas brunch - deliciously cooked by Papa - and gifts with the Rowell's. Again, we enjoyed being together and celebrating the day. We're so blessed!

Unfortunately, the day ended up not looking the way mommy had hoped it would. At the breakfast table Christmas morning, I started to get sick and spent the day unable to keep anything down and very tired. A combination of Avery germs and mommy's exhaustion led to a day on the couch (or in the bathroom - yuck!). Luckily, Avery was up for some cuddles and snuggles!

For Christmas dinner, Daddy and Avery went with the Rowell's to Auntie Beth's parent's house and enjoyed a delicious meal - including some amazing cheesy potatoes that daddy had to make in mommy's absence. Apparently, he should be in charge of the cooking from now on! :) After dinner, everyone gathered around for some gingerbread house building...for which Avery had little patience for. "Tell me again why we don't just eat all this candy!?"

Overall, we enjoyed our Christmas celebrations, even though things were a little different than we'd planned.

Don't you L.O.V.E. Avery's Christmas outfit!? Thanks to the talents of the The Pink Jelly Bean (http://www.facebook.com/thepinkjellybean).

In the days since Christmas, we've been busy potty training and getting Avery moved into her new big girl room. Check back soon for pics and updates of these two exciting events! :)

We bought a potty chair for Ellie because I assumed (and correctly so) that it would take her awhile not to be scared of it...right now it's just sitting in our bathroom for her to look at...and consider. :)

I cannot get over how freakin gorgeous Avery is! I shouldn't be surprised though...look at her momma! Hope the sickness passes soon!
