Odds and Ends

Today is Memorial Day. It's a holiday. So they say. Not so much for daddy, who had to work. The girls and I tried to enjoy the day, though. We played in the pool at Momo and Papa's house and shared a family dinner to welcome them home from a weekend away.

We always love time with our family. Avery especially looks forward to play time with cousin Hadley! Looking at the above photo though, I'm thinking maybe I should spend less money on coordinating hair bows with my child's swimsuit and maybe invest in some pool toys. A ladle and plastic cup...really!? Anywho...

Hadley's learning about pouring.

Love that face. As if to say, "Aw, man did you see all that water dump right on me!" She's too cute.
The littlest little loved being outside and getting loves from her family. She was pretty seriously studying her big sis and big cousin and learning all about the particulars of pool parties.
And this one. Oh. My. She's spunk. She's so full of life and laughter and learning. She's a hoot. And she can't wait to be 3! Everyday she's asking me, "Mom, am I 3 today?" "Mom, is it June 10th!?" Soon baby. Let's not rush it. Mom's in no hurry.
Time is flying by. Can't believe that next week Ave will be 3 years old and Riley with be 3 months! Wow. (Stayed tuned for some updates on how mommy is preparing herself to go back to work...7 days and counting!)

Here are some recent pics of Riley Kate. To celebrate her 11th week, she sported her first pony tail. Kinda.
This past week she's taken to sucking on her hands so seriously that I'm worried one day I'll find her with a missing finger or two. Love her drooly chin, though. And those cheeks...could kiss on 'em all stinkin' day long.
Oh, and she modeled these amazing flip flops...hand-me-downs from big sis...but still amazing. Best baby shoes ever.
Welcome summer. Glad you're finally here.

Loved this post! Glad you did this instead of that list of other things you needed to do ;)
You do an excellent job of keeping updated on your girls. Glad they are all doing so well. Enjoy your last week of maternity leave.

LOVE the pictures of your girls...so cute! I especially like the one of little Riley's "ponytail". I think it will be a looonnngg time before Natalie has enough hair for that. :)
Hope you all enjoy your summer! And I'll be thinking of you with your return to work....boo. :(
