A Fun Weekend

The girls and I had a really fun weekend. Daddy has been super busy working, so we distracted ourselves with some fun activities.

Friday night, we went to the Old Shawnee Days carnival. I've lived in Shawnee for nearly 20 years and had never been to the carnival, so this was a first for me. Avery absolutely loved it. The girl has no fear. Love the look on her face. Priceless.

Thank goodness Momo and Papa went with us. Mommy went with Avery on one ride within 10 seconds of the spinning teacups was done. Seriously. Almost didn't make it off that one with my dinner still in my tummy. So, Momo took Avery on several rides and Papa was on baby duty while Mommy snapped away with the camera.
At the end of the night, Avery wanted to go on the ferris wheel.
I was a little nervous about that (especially since they don't buckle people in), but since she could ride with both Momo and Papa and sit in the middle, I said ok and tried to calm my nerves. And of course, she loved it.
Baby sis and I watched from safetly on the ground. Riley seemed to love the fair, too. We went later in the evening in an effort to avoid the heat, but it meant a late night for us. Riley was wide awake the whole time...I like to think because she was having so much fun, but truthfully she was probably WAY overstimulated!
Luckily, we all went to bed easily and slept in on Saturday!

When we did wake up Saturday morning, we put on our swimming suits and headed to meet Avery's buddy Ellie and her mommy and little brother for some fun at the pool. The big girls had a blast playing together...as usual. The babies slept...well Riley for about 10 minutes, but she did at least get to sport her swimsuit for the first time...And the mommies chatted away.

Definitely a fun weekend.
