Happy Easter

It's been a wonderful weekend preparing for and celebrating Easter. Saturday we were busy with preparations for clothes, Easter baskets, food and cleaning, but we did take some time out to color Easter eggs - a first for Miss Avery. She did a great job and had fun.

Sunday was a beautiful day! We had breakfast with Braxton's family before a wonderful Easter service at church. Lunch was at Momo and Papa's house with all of the Rowell family and some friends from church. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, wonderful Easter egg hunt, blowing bubbles and swinging in the backyard. Avery was so tuckered out for all the events of the day that by the time we got home, she slept for three hours! It was an absolutely perfect day!

A cute little story about Avery this Easter...I've been teaching her to say "He is Risen!" and on Friday night we were at church for the Good Friday service. At the end of the service we were dismissed in darkness and in silence to remember Christ's death, so the atmosphere was very quiet and somber. I picked Avery up from the nursery and we were walking back through the main foyer when she took off running, threw her hands up in the air and started shouting, "He is risen! He is risen!" It was definitely a cute moment...even if her timing was a little off!
