Party Time!

Well, our little princess is two! I can't believe it! This past year has flown by and I can't believe what a little girl Avery is. She loved celebrating her birthday. Two days before her actual birthday, we invited some of Avery's friends to join us at Deanna Rose Farmstead. Unfortunately, we woke that morning to lots of rain and thunder, but we waited patiently and were able to spend a few hours enjoying the farm.




The evening of Avery's birthday we had our families over for dinner, cake and gifts. After having celebrated on Tuesday with her friends, Avery had really figured out the "birthday thing." She seemed to know exactly what we were getting ready to do. When Braxton brought home the balloons in the afternoon, Ave started running around the house yelling, "It's my birthday! Surprise!!!" As our family members started to arrive, she'd stand at the front window and say, "There's Grandma...and a present!! There's Auntie...and a present!" What a silly girl!


The party was fun and Avery was spoiled with lots of fun new toys including a new tricycle, a doll house, Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, legos, and a new sand box.




Another milestone in the midst of all this celebrating was Avery's first day at Parent's Day Out on Wednesday. I wasn't sure how it would go...for Avery and for me...but we both had a really good day. Avery seemed to have had lots of fun at "school" and mommy got lots accomplished during her free time. Ave wasn't really in the cooperating mood for a first day of school photo-op, so this is about as good as it got. I think her backpack may have been a bit heavy...
