Snow Day

Can I call it a snow day when we didn't have plans to go anywhere or do anything in the first place? I decided that yes! I can!

Avery and I started off the day the right way...sleeping in! In fact, Little Miss slept til almost 10:30 so while she was snoozing the morning away I enjoyed some time on Etsy...dangerous!

Once Avery got up for the day, we were eating our oatmeal and I asked her what we should do today. Her to-do list looked a little different than the one I had in mind, but I decided hers was better. So after breakfast (at almost lunch time) we started our snow day off by playing Candy Land .

We still make frequent trips to the bathroom as we are still mastering potty training. Avery likes taking her "computer" into the bathroom and says "I need to check my email!" while she sits. I promise...she's never seen her parents do that!

Next up on the agenda, play doh time!

Followed by playing in the snow. I must admit I was a little hesitant to take her out, mostly because I knew it would be a lot of work to get her all dressed, but she was so excited. So we piled on the layers. She wore long underwear, sweat pants and a sweat shirt, three pairs of socks, her snow suit, boots, a hat and mittens. I think she was warm enough! And she loved it so it was totally worth the work and the mess! This big, almost 32 weeks pregnant mommy even managed to get down in the wet stuff and make snow angels with my little angel! Lots of fun!

While we were playing outside, my two "little" brothers and two of their friends stopped by and shoveled our driveway for this currently "single" mom. (Daddy's in Miami enjoying 80 degrees and sunshine.) Thanks Stephen, Stuart, Caleb and Tanner!

After our time in the snow and a quick lunch, it was time to cuddle up with hot chocolate and a movie. A perfect way to spend a cold afternoon!

We have loved our snow day. Several times I found myself thinking, "I should be...doing laundry, cleaning the bathrooms, vacuuming, organizing baby things..." but I'm so glad I chose to ignore my to-do list for today and instead focus on Avery's to-do's. Our days of just the two of us are kinda limited and this ended up being a pretty special one. Glad we made the memories!
