An Update.

Nothing super exciting to report. Just life. After Braxton being home for a week, Avery and I are adjusting to it being just us girls around the house again. I take that back, we have our manly dog, Oliver, to protect us! Braxton left last Thursday for a work trip and will be gone 24 days before he comes home again. We are always sad to see him leave and miss him terribly while he's gone, but we try to focus on his return and our time together when he's here!

And life continues, even with daddy not around. We've enjoyed time with our family. Sunday, after our usual lunch together, Avery got to play in the snow on Momo and Papa's perfect sledding hill with her Uncle Stuart, who - let's face it - is a lot more fun to play with than mommy at this point. She had a blast! Thanks, Uncle Stu!

Yep, we used the recycling bin for a sled! That's how classy we are!

This past week we also celebrated Papa's big 50th birthday.

My mom and all us kids joined together and we bought Papa an airline ticket to Chicago and a ticket to opening day at Wrigley Field with the Cubs! We were all really excited about giving dad this gift. (Who's idea was it, brothers? Oh, that's right - your smart, talented, beautiful sister to the rescue once again!) Dad is a pretty level headed, even tempered kind of guy - there's not a lot that gets much of a reaction out of him, so I think his response was a pretty good one. Definitely better than the reaction he would have had, had we gone with Avery's gift suggestion of a Barbie!

Yesterday, I took Avery and her "best buddy" Eli to Monkey Bizness and Fritz's for a fun treat. And honestly, I'd hoped it would wear the girl out so I could get a good nap out of her in the afternoon. That plan didn't really work out, but they did have fun together. Aren't they the cutest!? Seriously disappointed these two are related otherwise there would an arranged marriage in their future!

And our baby sister's growth is truckin' along. This is a picture of mom and baby at 33 weeks and 3 days, but we're 34 weeks today! Hard to believe it!

At my appointment today, I went from measuring a little on the small side to measuring a bit ahead...makes me nervous about how big this kiddo is going to be. I've had a feeling all along that this little girl is going to be bigger than her 7lbs 4oz sister was, but now I'm starting to get a little scared about how much bigger she'll be. Only time will tell I guess.

I'm finally starting to work on getting baby girl's room organized and put together. I hope to have pictures of both the girls' completed rooms to reveal soon. But here's a sneak peak...Baby sister's room (no, she doesn't have a name! We may just call her "baby sister" forever!)

And Avery's room...

Can't believe we're about to have two kids. Getting a little nervous about all the changes and adjustments that are coming our way. But also really excited to finally meet this little one.

Jo-
I love Avery's room!! How did you do that tree? Is it one of those wall stickers?
Our family grew up with that red "You are special" plate! Brings back memories!
You look fantastic! I love reading these updates!

Thanks Suzie! The tree in Avery's room is one of those vinyl wall decals - I got it on etsy and am really happy with how it turned out!

Always love Avery pics. And you're looking pretty cute yourself. Oh yeah, just saw your cute self last noc! Love baby sister's room, too. :)
