5 months. Wow. Can't believe how fast the time is going. It's amazing how much Riley is growing and changing. This past month was one where it seemed like Riley would change overnight. She's getting so big and strong. And so beautiful.

Love this baby girl's smiles. So sweet. If only she were always this happy, but let's be honest. This girl sheds lots of tears...sad, but true.

When she's happy and in the right mood ;) she loves her johnny jump up, sitting in the bumbo seat, reading books (favorites include: brown bear, brown bear and the hungry little caterpillar) and singing songs (loves "if you're happy and you know it" and "raindrops"). And she's almost always happy to be outside...even when it's a million degrees out! She also likes the sound of running water and loud noises like the hair dryer and vacuum cleaner. She loves her hands and feet and almost always has them in her mouth.

We're working hard on sitting up. I told her the other day that I was hoping she'd be sitting up in time for her 6 month pictures. I think she listened. She's gonna try her best, I'm sure.

No doctor's appointment this month, so I don't have an updated weight, but I'm guessing she's around 13.5 pounds. She's kind of a little bit. Still wearing a lot of her 0-3 month clothes and just starting to fill out the 3-6 month stuff.

Riley is not a fan of sleeping in her own bed, riding in the car (she doesn't mind her car seat, but as soon as it snaps into the base, she starts screaming!), being on her tummy, her pacifier...stink!, or the nights that mommy goes to work.

Despite all her quirks and challenges, we love her so much. She's precious and I can't imagine life without her. Happy 5 months, Riley Kate!

Oh friend, she is so beautiful! I promise the crying will get better. Aubrey settled down between 5 and 6 months and is a totally different girl now. She does not enjoy when I go to work either. Jimmie says that sometimes he thinks she feels she can cry me back home.
